Our blog provides the the latest news, releases and general tips and hints about using Genie to keep installers and customers up-to-date.

This first blog coincides with the latest major upgrade of Genie, Version 3 Release 5 for both Classic and Club Access editions. This release comes with two significant changes, as well as many minor new features added.
The main changes are
- Users Centre major rewrite to add features and make the user data easier to access and change
- Licence changes. V3R5 is a paid upgrade for existing users. A new type of licence, a Commissioning licence, is now offered that provides 60 days full access to programming and connection to the Genesis panels. After this time, the full Client licence needs to be installed.
Other changes include
- Digifort CCTV support
- New Reporting Engine, with new reports for Door Access Groups, reworked Panel Data reports
- Ability to find Users by User Id from third party systems, particularly helpful for Club Access systems
- Inclusion of Genesis programming in the Points Centre, simplifying Area List programming, and adding Text programming
- History Screen status shows if any panels are offline
- Changes to handling of file sharing between workstations. This has been done to reflect changes in Windows® security settings.
- Main Menu changes to display status messages when needed
- User Importing changes for Club Access and Professional to respect uniqueness for third party User Ids
Our web site has also been changed extensively, with new images showing sample screens. This will continue to be used to also announce changes and for downloading the latest release.
